Antenatal & Baby Classes
Georgina Budd - Mummas and Beans Epsom, Worcester Park & Thames Ditton Owner/Teacher
I'm Georgina and a mum of two amazing little girls; Isla, 6, and Grace, 3.
As a type 1 diabetic I knew pregnancy was never going to be easy. Both my pregnancies were consultant lead and very different. I was largely guided by my diabetes team and therefore had very little choice at how I was going to deliver my babies. Due to this I was nervous about participating in mainstream antenatal groups as I knew there would be little chance of me having natural births.
In the end I had both my girls by c section. My first daughter was also breach and I had the added complication of developing eclampsia. My second pregnancy was far less complicated and I'm pleased to say a totally different experience.
Both pregnancies and births taught me that although the choice was taken away from me I was very much in control of them. I didn't conform to a "normal birth", but what makes a normal birth these days anyway? I learnt very quickly that as long as my babies were safe, and that I was happy & well, it didn't matter how they entered this world. At Mummas and Beans this is very much the ethos, that it's your choice and there is no right or wrong way of doing things. We will provide you with all the Information for you and your partner to feel in control & happy about your pregnancy, your birth and beyond. As well as supporting you on this life changing experience that is parenting!
I am very excited to be running antenatal & post-natal classes and getting to know all those parents to be on this amazing & exciting journey.
