Antenatal & Baby Classes
Melissa Fleming - Mummas and Beans Bagshot, Lightwater Virginia Water, Ascot Owner/Teacher
I’m Melissa, Mummy to 3 wonderful children, Isabelle, Ellie and Fraser (2005, 2008, 2012) and I have been a registered midwife for almost 20 years.
When you embark on motherhood it is a fantastic, but life changing, experience. I had very different birth experiences with all my children. Although I was a midwife when I had my first child, I still went to antenatal classes. I wanted to experience pregnancy as a new mummy to be, not only as a midwife. I also wanted to meet new friends, ( which I did) who would be going on a similar journey to me.
To be a little bit prepared and gain some valuable knowledge and understanding of pregnancy, birth and the first few months is invaluable. To be able to meet up each week with friends to share tips and advice is so important, and to know that at least once a week you will be getting out of the house! I loved my Thursday morning meet ups! When I had my third child I went to a baby massage class and being able to spend time with just him was brilliant.
I am so excited to be part of Mummas and Beans not only because it gives me an opportunity to share my experiences as a midwife but also as a mummy -the best job in the world! I can’t wait to share the vision of Mummas in offering realistic expectations, advocating informed choice in a fun and supportive environment and with the opportunity to make new friends.
